What is the Tower District? My friend William Saroyan defined
it. He invented it. And now people who cannot answer the first question,
ask,"Who was William Saroyan?" He wrote stories and sketches
about Fresno drawn from his experiences in and around this part
of town.

Tower District residents have the opportunity to participate
in a community-wide effort to rid the area of unwanted trash and
debris. "Operation Clean-up" pickups are slated to begin
on Friday, Feb. 15, running through Feb. 22.

Cajun Mardi Gras
Returns to Tower 02/08/01
Mardi Gras is slated to begin this year with the
annual Fresno celebration and parade at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday February
25th, 2001. The parade begins at the west end of Olive Ave. at Weber
St. and will end at the intersection of Van Ness and Olive.
